Epson EcoTank L3250 Error Codes

Step-by-step help for Epson EcoTank L3250 Error Codes.

Epson EcoTank L3250 error lights

The Epson EcoTank L3250 does not use an LCD screen to display conventional error codes. Instead, many printer problems are communicated through the lights on its control panel.

The L3250 has lights for power, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, ink and paper.

The meaning of an error depends on which light is on or flashing and, in some cases, whether multiple lights are flashing together.

Paper light is on

If the paper light stays on, the printer may have no paper loaded or may have fed multiple sheets at the same time.

Try this:

  1. Check the rear paper feeder.
  2. Load paper correctly.
  3. Make sure multiple sheets are not stuck together.
  4. Press the B&W copy or color copy button to clear the error.

Then try printing again.

Paper light is flashing

A flashing paper light indicates that paper is jammed in the printer.

Carefully remove the jammed paper.

Check for torn pieces of paper that may remain inside the printer and avoid pulling paper forcefully if it does not move easily.

After clearing the jam, press the B&W copy or color copy button to clear the error.

Ink light is on

If the ink light stays on, Epson indicates that the initial ink charging process may not have been completed.

If the printer has recently been set up or its ink system has not completed initialization, follow Epson’s initial ink-charging instructions before using the printer normally.

Do not turn the printer off while the initial ink-charging process is still running.

Ink and paper lights flashing together

If the ink and paper lights flash simultaneously, an internal ink pad is nearing or has reached the end of its service life.

Epson recommends contacting Epson support in this situation.

If your computer displays an option allowing printing to continue temporarily, pressing the B&W copy or color copy button may allow you to continue printing.

The printer’s waste ink pads are not considered a user-replaceable part.

Ink and paper lights flashing alternately

If the ink and paper lights flash alternately, Epson identifies the problem as the borderless-printing ink pad nearing or reaching the end of its service life.

Borderless printing will not be available until the issue is resolved.

Epson recommends contacting Epson support for service.

All Epson L3250 lights are flashing

If all the lights are flashing, the printer has detected a printer error.

Paper or protective material may be stuck inside the printer.

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Check carefully for jammed paper or remaining protective material.
  3. Remove anything obstructing the printer.
  4. Turn the printer off.
  5. Turn it back on.

If all lights continue flashing after the printer has been checked and restarted, contact Epson support.

Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct lights are flashing

If the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct lights are flashing, the L3250 has encountered a Wi-Fi connection error.

Press the Wi-Fi button to clear the error and try connecting again.

If the connection continues to fail:

  • Restart the printer and router.
  • Move the printer closer to the router.
  • Check your Wi-Fi network name and password.
  • Make sure a compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is available.
  • Run the wireless setup process again.

Ink, paper, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct lights are on

If the ink light, paper light, Wi-Fi light and Wi-Fi Direct light are all on, an error occurred while the printer’s firmware was being updated.

Epson recommends connecting the L3250 to the computer using a USB cable and trying the firmware update again.

If the error continues after retrying the update, contact Epson support.

Ink and paper lights are both on

If the ink and paper lights are both continuously on, Epson indicates that the printer was not turned off correctly.

Press the B&W copy or color copy button to clear the error.

Epson then recommends:

  1. Run a print-head nozzle check.
  2. Cancel any pending print jobs.
  3. Use the printer’s power button when turning the L3250 off in the future.

Power light is flashing

A flashing power light by itself does not necessarily indicate an error.

It normally means the printer is busy.

Wait until the power light stops flashing before turning the printer off or disconnecting its power.

Still seeing an error light?

If the light pattern does not match one of the conditions above:

  1. Turn the printer off using its power button.
  2. Check for paper jams or foreign material.
  3. Turn the printer back on.
  4. Check the lights again.

Avoid repeatedly resetting or disconnecting the printer without identifying the cause.

If the same error returns, use Epson’s official support resources provided below to confirm the light pattern and determine whether the printer requires service.
