Epson EcoTank L3250 Wi-Fi Setup

Step-by-step help for Epson EcoTank L3250 Wi-Fi Setup.

Epson EcoTank L3250 Wi-Fi setup

The Epson EcoTank L3250 can connect to your wireless network so you can print and scan without connecting the printer to your computer with a USB cable.

If you are setting up Wi-Fi for the first time, changing routers, or reconnecting the printer after changing your Wi-Fi password, start with the checks below.

Before you start

Make sure:

  • The Epson L3250 is turned on.
  • Your wireless router is working.
  • You know your Wi-Fi network name and password.
  • Your phone or computer is connected to the network you want to use.
  • The printer is within a reasonable range of the router.

The Epson L3250 uses the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency band. If your router separates 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, make sure a compatible 2.4 GHz network is available.

Set up Wi-Fi using Epson software

For most users, the simplest method is to use Epson’s setup software or Epson Smart Panel and follow the on-screen instructions.

Epson Smart Panel is available for compatible iOS and Android devices and can guide you through connecting an Epson printer to a wireless network.

During setup, keep your phone or computer close to the printer and do not interrupt the process until Epson confirms that setup is complete.

Connect using WPS

If your wireless router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can connect the L3250 without manually entering your Wi-Fi password into the printer.

  1. Press the WPS button on your wireless router or access point.
  2. Within two minutes, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the Epson printer for about five seconds.
  3. The Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct lights should flash alternately while the connection is being established.
  4. When the Wi-Fi light remains on, the printer has connected to the wireless network.

If the connection fails, move the printer closer to the router and try again.

How do I know if the L3250 is connected to Wi-Fi?

Check the network lights on the printer.

When the Wi-Fi light is on, the L3250 is connected to a wireless network.

You can also print a network status sheet or network connection report from the printer to check its network settings and diagnose connection problems.

Changed your router or Wi-Fi password?

If you have replaced your router or changed the Wi-Fi network name or password, the printer may still be trying to connect using its previous network settings.

Reconnect the L3250 to the new wireless network using Epson’s setup process.

Your computers and mobile devices may also need to reconnect to the printer after its network connection changes.

Epson L3250 cannot connect to Wi-Fi

Try these checks:

  • Restart the printer.
  • Restart the wireless router.
  • Move the printer closer to the router.
  • Confirm that the Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Make sure a compatible 2.4 GHz network is available.
  • Check that the router is operating normally.
  • Print a network connection report to help identify the problem.

If your router uses the same network name for multiple Wi-Fi bands, you normally do not need to change this unless you are having connection problems.

Printer connected to Wi-Fi but computer cannot find it

First confirm that the computer and printer are connected to the same local network.

Then:

  1. Restart the printer and computer.
  2. Confirm that the printer’s Wi-Fi light is on.
  3. Check whether security software or firewall settings are interfering with printer discovery.
  4. Run Epson’s setup software again if necessary.
  5. Check that the correct Epson L3250 printer is selected when printing.

If you recently changed routers, reinstalling or reconfiguring the network connection may be necessary.

Can I connect directly without a router?

Yes. The Epson L3250 supports Wi-Fi Direct.

Wi-Fi Direct allows a computer, phone or other compatible device to communicate directly with the printer without using your normal wireless router.

To enable Wi-Fi Direct on the L3250:

  1. Make sure paper is loaded.
  2. Hold down the Wi-Fi button and press the network status button until the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct lights flash alternately.
  3. Wait until the Wi-Fi Direct light remains on.
  4. Hold the network status button for about seven seconds to print a network status sheet.
  5. On your phone or computer, select the Wi-Fi Direct network name shown on the sheet.
  6. Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password shown on the sheet.

Wi-Fi Direct is useful when a normal wireless network is unavailable or when you want to connect a device directly to the printer.

Still having Wi-Fi problems?

If the L3250 still will not connect, print a network connection report and check the reported network status or error.
