Canon PIXMA G3270 Print Quality Problems

Step-by-step help for Canon PIXMA G3270 Print Quality.

Start with a nozzle check, not repeated cleaning

If the Canon PIXMA G3270 prints blurry output, streaks, missing colors or inaccurate colors, Canon’s maintenance sequence begins by printing and examining a nozzle check pattern. This tells you whether the print-head nozzles are actually the likely cause.

If the nozzle pattern is not correct

Canon instructs users to clean the print head and then print another nozzle check. If the result still does not improve, perform the normal cleaning sequence again and check the pattern once more.

Use Deep Cleaning only after normal cleaning

If two normal cleaning attempts do not resolve the print-head problem, Canon’s next step is Deep Cleaning. Deep Cleaning consumes more ink than standard cleaning, so it should not be used as the first response to every print-quality issue. Canon also instructs users to check that the maintenance cartridge has sufficient free space.

If Deep Cleaning still does not fix it

Canon’s documented escalation is specific: if the problem remains after Deep Cleaning, turn the printer off, wait more than 24 hours, and perform Deep Cleaning again. This waiting step is part of Canon’s sequence and should not be skipped by repeatedly running deep cleans back-to-back.

Further escalation

If ink still does not come out correctly, Canon documents a Replace Ink in Print Head procedure. Canon warns that this consumes a large amount of ink. If the nozzle check remains incorrect after that procedure, Canon directs users toward checking print-head installation and potentially print-head replacement.

Also check alignment and print settings

Not every quality problem is a clogged nozzle. Canon separately recommends print-head alignment for uneven or misaligned ruled lines, and paper or print-quality settings can also affect the result. Match the maintenance action to the symptom rather than cleaning automatically.
