Step-by-step help for Canon PIXMA G3270 Wi-Fi Setup.
Know the G3270’s wireless options first
The Canon PIXMA G3270 supports Wi-Fi on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks and also supports Wireless Direct. That gives you two basic choices: connect the printer through your normal wireless router, or use a direct wireless connection when that is more appropriate.
For normal home or office Wi-Fi
Use Canon’s official G3270 setup workflow and follow the on-screen connection instructions. Canon’s setup process is designed to connect the printer to the computer and network before completing the software setup.
If you replaced your wireless router or changed its network settings, Canon instructs users to redo the printer’s network setup. Do not assume that an old saved connection will automatically follow a new network name, password or router configuration.
Wireless Direct is a different connection mode
The G3270 supports Wireless Direct, which allows a compatible device to connect directly to the printer rather than sending print traffic through the normal router-based network. Use this deliberately; it is not the same as having the printer joined to your regular home or office Wi-Fi.
If Canon setup cannot find the G3270
Check that the printer and computer are using the intended network and that the network is operating normally. Canon’s G3070-series network guidance includes troubleshooting for printers that cannot be found on the network and provides network diagnostic guidance rather than recommending repeated software installation as the first response.
After the connection works
Complete Canon’s setup software on the computer you want to use. The G3270 setup software can then support printing and scanning. If the printer later appears offline, troubleshoot network communication before assuming the driver has failed.
